So I just went into Sweet Pea’s room to check on him before tucking myself into bed. As I walked in there was a stinky smell and I knew I was going to be waking him up to change his diaper. I can not stand the thought of him sitting in a dirty diaper all night long and waking up with a rash.

So I grabbed my hubby and we went in for the change. Would you believe that we picked Sweet Pea up, put him on the changing table, took off his pants and diaper, put it all back on, and put him in his crib and he didn’t wake up once!! Not only that but he grinned and giggled somewhere in the middle of all that while he was still asleep. It was the easiest diaper change we have had in months!

Oh…and the diaper wasn’t dirty. Turns out he’s just a little gassy tonight.

Yesterday morning when I was drying my hair, Sweet Pea started taking all the rubber ducks out of the bath tub. It’s not to unusual for Sweet Pea to play in the bathroom while I am getting ready so I didn’t think anything of it. Then I looked more closely at what he was doing. He lined them all up on the side of the tub and faced them outward so they were looking at him. Then he started singing and dancing. He was putting on a show for his ducks!!!!! It was all I could do to not put the hair dryer down and wrap him into a huge hug! Everyday I am constantly amazed at his imagination and creativity. I look at baby pictures of him and sometimes wish we could go back, but then I love the stage we are in right now! I love seeing what he will come up with next.

In November we moved to a new city. We left my family and a church we loved behind to begin a new journey for our own family. We knew it would be hard, but we also knew that in the long run it would be good.

Since November we have been searching for a church to call home. Each Sunday we have gotten up and dressed and headed out to continue our search and each week we come home a little more dejected. Each week have just felt more and more out of place here wondering why we even moved to a city where we knew no one. But knowing all the while we came here because God told us to.

So we got up this morning, but not at all excited about it. Every Sunday it has gotten harder and harder to get out of bed knowing that this Sunday was going to be just like the last. You can not imagine how excited we were when we walked into the church we were visiting this morning and both felt peace and at home. I don’t have any words to describe the feeling. Maybe you have felt it yourself. The feeling of knowing you are exactly where the Lord wants you to be.

As you can see from my Wordless Wednesday post yesterday we had an exciting visit at the OB office a few days ago. We got to do our one and only sonogram to see the baby! They measured the baby and it turns out she is measuring as big as a 22 week baby even though I am 20 weeks. Of course this doesn’t really mean anything. She will come when she is supposed to despite how big or small she is. Sweet Pea was three weeks early and weighed in at over seven pounds so I am not surprised that she is big as well. We also got to see her kick her feet and cross her legs. We never got a great face shot because she kept moving her hands. Every time the sonogram technician went to take her picture she would cover her face. We also got a great shot of her having the hiccups. Sweet Pea just sat in his daddy’s lap the whole time staring at the screen. It was so fun!

Our visit with the doctor also went well. She is pleased with the baby’s measurement and my progress. We got to talk a little bit about my having a VBAC and she is on board. Of course she had to go over everything that could go wrong during a VBAC before she agrees to it, but that is just procedure. I am planning on taking a birthing class with a lady who has had a c-section and a vbac so I feel confident that I will be able to make a good decision about what to do when the time comes. Starting to think about signing up for birthing classes is exciting!! It means we are getting closer! yeah!

This week marks the twentieth week of my pregnancy. It is such a weird feeling to get to the halfway point. I am getting a real pregnant belly and all the aches and pains that go along with it. Everyone always asks about morning sickness (which I never had), but never about the back pain or the leg pain or the knee pain or the hip pain. And the list goes on. The only thing that makes the pains worth it is the little little baby kicks I am now starting to feel. When I am laying awake in the middle of the night trying to get comfortable and frustrated that I can’t, I suddenly feel a little jolt in my tummy and I smile and the pain gets shoved to the back of my mind for a brief second.

The only thing that is strange about this pregnancy is I still can’t picture myself with another baby. Sweet Pea and I have such a strong connection and our daily schedule is finally coming together. I just can’t picture us as a family of four. I know in my head that we will get to celebrate all the holidays this year with a brand new baby, but it’s not connecting to my heart. Weird? I hope it’s not too weird. So when does a second baby finally feel real?! I guess maybe when they are born.

The last couple of weeks the temperature has been in the 80s here and so Sweet Pea and I have been spending a lot of time outside. It’s only going to get hotter so it is time for the hair to go. I am now sporting a much shorter, cooler haircut. What do you think?

Last night we had a fabulous evening at the performance of Disney on Ice. A special thanks to 3Ps in a Pod for her giveaway and making it happen! Sweet Pea had such a great time. He was so enthralled with the characters he forgot to fidget for a full hour!

The tickets we won were a family four pack and since kids under age two get in for free we were able to take some good friends with us! Watching the kids dance and clap together was such fun!

The only downside was that taking Sweet Pea to the show and keeping him up late made us remember why he goes to bed on time at night. The second we got home from the show he fell apart. He was so tired that he couldn’t think straight. He cried the whole time we tried to get pjs on and get him into bed. But the second he laid down he was out. His eyes were shut before we even left the room. On top of that he has been grumpy all day today. It takes us two days to recover from staying up late. Haha. But watching his face during the show made it totally worth it!!!
