Bubbles

January22

The last month or so Peanut has been ready to go to sleep at night around six. This is not good for me because if she goes to bed at six then she is ready to get up for the day way before I am. So we have had a find ways to keep her awake AND happy until seven.

So at six we eat. She must be my daughter because food definitely makes her happy. After that we strip her down and give her a bath. She loves, loves, loves taking a bath. She isn’t even six months old yet and the second she gets in she splashes and giggles. We go back and forth between bathing her in the bathtub and bathing her in the sink. Tonight the sink won out. I fill the sink with water and bubbles and then plop her in. It could probably keep her happy until late at night if I let her stay in the water. Anyways, here are some picture my mom took of the occasion:

When Sweet Pea saw that Peanut was getting a bath he HAD to take one too. So we plopped him in the sink next to her!

Disney Christmas

December31

Sorry for the lack of posting. We had a fabulous trip to Disney over Christmas week. Unfortunately, I have had this major headache since we got home. But I figured I should post about Christmas before the year is over.

We spent our first night at Chef Mickey’s, a fun buffet style dinner where the characters come right to your table. Sweet Pea was enamored with the characters. Whenever he saw one he had this goofy grin on his face that you couldn’t wipe off. He just stared until it was time  for them to move on. Peanut was so exhausted from traveling that she slept through the whole thing.

Lightning McQueen was everywhere and Sweet Pea was so excited. GG and Papa got him these ears and he has been wearing them ever since.

We had lunch in the country of Japan and Peanut liked gnawing on the edamame.

Turns out my dad is quite the baby whisperer. Every time Peanut was fussy he would grab her and she would conk out on his shoulder.

Here is Sweet Pea in our hotel room sporting a night gown that my aunt made for him. He started out in a crib by the bed, but ended up sleeping in the awesome king sized bed in our room. Both kids were so off in their sleeping while we were gone. I think they just knew they were not home. The good thing is when we got home they were both so relieved to be in their own beds they napped like champs.

One afternoon me, my brothers, my dad, and my papa went parasailing. So much fun! I highly recommend it if you ever get the chance. It’s an incredible feeling to be up so high.

Disney does a wonderful job decorating for the holidays. Here we are posing in front of one of the many Christmas trees. Four generations:

Hats

December16

On Sunday we are leaving to go to Disney World for Christmas! We are so excited and really looking forward to the trip. Last week I was browsing stores on etsy and found these cute hats!!! I thought they would be the perfect way to keep the kids warm while at Disney!!! Josie, the store owner and maker of the hats, was amazing! She made them in one day so the kids could have them for our trip. Sweet Pea already  loves his and has been wearing it since we got it in the mail today.

Blackberry

December10

Life has been crazy busy.Charles is in his last few days of class and has finals next week. He also has a job contract that is due next week. Needless to say I have been here with the kids and going crazy and not having time to get on the computer. I was trying to figure out something quick to post so here it is. I realized I had over 200 pictures stored on my blackberry. So I loaded them all onto the computer yesterday. These are pictures of things I thought were cute, but didn’t have my camera. Isn’t it nice to have phones that take such great pictures?!

In this picture, Peanut was rubbing her eyes. But she was so tired that she fell asleep with her hand still on her face!

IMG00266

On our drive home from Thanksgiving we stopped for lunch. Sweet Pea wanted to hold Peanut during our little break:

On a side note, here is something I never thought I would say: “No Sweet Pea, you can not brush your teeth one more time!!”

Christmas Card

December5

Today we went to the mall to take a family picture in front of a Christmas tree for our Christmas card. First, this was a really silly idea because it took about twenty minutes to find a parking spot. Second, taking pictures with kids is…a challenge. One of them is always crying, needing a snack, and neither of them look at the camera at the same time. There is only one out of the 100 pictures that we took where we are all looking at the camera. And here it is:

Now lets take a closer look:

Kids make life exciting…what can I say?

Four Months and Friends

December1

Well my baby girl is now four months old. I can hardly believe it! She is becoming more and more aware of her surroundings every day.

She has started to hate her car seat because she knows she won’t be able to see me when we get in the car. Sometimes we go the whole car ride with her screaming. The second we get to our destination and she can see me she stops.

If you put a toy in her eyesight she will reach for it and then immediately put it in her mouth.

She can already roll from tummy to back and she is so close to rolling from back to front. She will get half of her body flipped then stop.

She nurses constantly and never seems satisfied. So on Sunday when she turned four months we gave her rice cereal and she ate the whole bowl!! I was pretty shocked. When we gave Sweet Pea his first bites of rice cereal at six months he hated it and spit it out.

She has STOPPED sleeping at night. It is so strange because she was doing so well only waking up once or twice. I am not really sure what to do about this. I really can’t keep getting up all night long….it is exhausting. The people at Starbucks are starting to recognize me and Charles is not happy about this. :)

On another note we spent yesterday visiting with some wonderful friends. They just moved to a wonderful place outside of town. It is nice and secluded and the kids can play outside without worry, which they did ALL day long. They are about an hour away from us and we miss them so much! Here are some pictures:

Reptile Fest!

November9

This past weekend was the reptile fest at the Science Museum. Sweet Pea loved looking at all the animals that people brought to show. He was not scared at all of the snakes or little creepy crawlers. He was most impressed with the turtles, which is awesome because I would much rather get him a pet turtle than a snake. :)

Here he is looking at the little snakes:

Fair Day!

October19

On Friday my family came into town for the fair and we had so much fun!!

Here we are walking in:

The fam:

Most of the rides Sweet Pea and I could ride together, but this one was too small so he rode by himself. This did not go well. He started out okay, but by the second turn he was crying to get off. So I asked the guy to stop it and let him get off and he did. Poor little guy.

On our way out…

IMG_8783

What a fun day!!! Sweet Pea keeps asking to ride the “green choo choo train” again. It’s hard to explain that the fair is over and we have to wait until next year.

We Have Tomatoes!!!

September21

Earlier this year we used our topsy turvy tomato planter for the first time. I wasn’t sure if it would produce any tomatoes, but last week we looked outside and found one! Now there are three! We are waiting for them to ripen so we can eat them. :)

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Papa and GG!

September16

Last week my grandparents came to town to meet their newest great-granddaughter! We had so much fun playing and catching up.

Sweet Pea was able to convince GG to do his two favorite things almost the second they walked in the door: read books and play cars.
