The kids and I have taken an impromptu visit to see my parents. We decided last night that we would drive up this morning. It is a much needed break for me and the kids needed to visit their grandparents. It has been a month since they have seen them!! I think that is the longest Sweet Pea has gone between visits.

They both did really well in the car. Without stopping the drive from our house to theirs is four hours. It took us five hours with two stops. One for gas and the other for lunch.

Sweet Pea read books almost the entire time. I filled a big bag with his books this morning and kept it in the front seat. Whenever he would finish with a book he would throw it on the floor and ask for another. It worked out quite well! He only got a little antsy the last 45 minutes of the drive. So we started singing songs to his sister.

Peanut slept almost the entire time. She woke up when we stopped for lunch at McDonald’s. Which was perfect because she was able to nurse and stretch while Sweet Pea and I ate.

We are here and everyone is happy and resting! More on our visit later…
