Sleep Update
So I am loving our nighttime sleeping arrangement! The kids beds are right next to each other in our second bedroom. We lay Peanut down between 7-8 and she is asleep within five minutes. We lay Sweet Pea down between 8-9 and he also falls right to sleep. I still can’t believe how well it’s working. I think he really likes having his sister in the room with him. She has gone from only waking up once during the night to twice, but I can handle that. It is still nothing compared to Sweet Pea!
Nap time, on the other hand, is not going so well. I lay Peanut down and I KNOW she is tired but she just screams and screams. And then Sweet Pea’s nap gets pushed back and he has a hard time falling asleep.
So I finally realized that I am NOT the mom who lets her kids cry and I have never been that mom. I have been way crazy and stressed out the past couple of days trying to make her do something she is obviously not ready for. I have always let them lead me and show me what they need. So today I put Sweet Pea down for his nap at the correct time and brought Peanut to my bedroom. She just sat in my lap while I was on the computer and then zonked out after about an hour. It was amazing the difference in her mood and mine today.
So that is what is going on in our sleep world!!

Excellent problem-solving! I agree with you about letting them lead, although I *am* the mom who will let him cry it out. But that doesn’t mean you’re rigid, or that you ignore the fact that something just isn’t working. Flexibility is where it’s at.
I shared a room with my sister when we were little, and it’s great.
