RNC – Sarah Palin
Most people just assume that because I tend to be on the conservative side that I am always going to vote Republican. This annoys me because it assumes that I am going to blindly follow someone specifically because of their party. In any election, I will always look at both parties’ candidate equally and then decide which one I think will be best for our country.
That being said, I have read both candidate’s websites, researched their careers, and listened to their speeches (as well as the VPs). I have tried to avoid the media, because we all know that they pick a candidate prematurely and then spin stories in their favor.
Tonight I watched the speech made by John McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin. She was confident, well-spoken, and knowledgeable. While she may not have quite the same amount of experience as other politicians, she has accomplished a lot in her two years as governor (much more than Obama has). It makes me confident that if she makes it to Washington, she will get right down to business and make stuff happen. Our country doesn’t need somebody that will promise us change and then not be able to deliver. If I am going to vote for you, I need to know that once you get to the White House you will begin to implement the changes you have promised. Obama just hasn’t shown that he can do this. I think that Obama is appealing in some ways, but let him be in the Senate a little longer to prove to us that he has what it takes to be president. McCain has shown us that, as has Palin. I may not agree with McCain about everything, but at least I know he has a strong background and will be able to lead this country with honor.
So come November 4, 2008, I will proudly vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin. They are the team that can provide the real change that we need.
She fired me up last night! For a second, I considered ordering my first presidential campaign bumper sticker!
I think McCain and Palin will make a great team in Washington, and they have the chance to bring about real reform. Their mix of honor and experience will give them a real shot at shaking things up!
I like Obama, too. He’s charismatic, but ultimately too inexperienced and probably too liberal.
Glad I’m not the only one voting this ticket. Sometimes it feels that way in certain circles I “run” with online. lol
Although there are certain things about this ticket that don’t appeal to me, over all they are aligned with what I’d like to see happen.
I agree that there are certain things about the Obama ticket that appeal to me but not enough to get my vote.
Wish I could craft my perfect ticket… wouldn’t that be great? LOL
I would be awesome to craft our own tickets. lol. it seems like we don’t really have much of a choice.
Hi there
Made my way over to your blog. Your son is beautiful!! Sooooo sweet
I think you know I am loving Obama but I wondered what it is about Palin that impresses you so? What has she done in her few yrs as sports reporter, mayor and 2 yrs governor that you like MORE then what Obama has done? He has been a Rep in congress, then in the senate. Plus he has real life experience actually working with people, he moves people with his manners and can sway people to his way of thinking by pulling people together, which I think is important in a leader, to not allienate people.. You know I mean this respectfully. I kinda put her and Obama on the same level as she will be in charge if heaven forbid something happened to Mccain. Thanks for the fun debate

I like that she got into politics to fix a problem, not for power. Then she found out that she was good at it. She has a lot of tangible accomplishments in a short period of time at the state level and has 13 years of experience before that in elected office.
What has she done in her few yrs as sports reporter, mayor and 2 yrs governor that you like MORE then what Obama has done?
Well, I don’t think her job as a sports reporter has anything to do with her ability as an elected official, no more than Reagan’s career as an actor. All together she has 13 years of elected office experience.
Here is a link to an analysis of Obama’s accomplishments in the US Senate. I think it’s kind of funny that McCain’s name is also on 2 of the things that Obama’s name is on.
As for Palin, in the last four years she has:
she has been chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, a highly paid spot that she resigned from because of corruption. She fixed it by ousting the state party chairman (who was a Republican). She cleaned up the practice of kick-backs to legislators from oil-companies. She removed unfair tax breaks from oil-companies. She used a budget surplus for a tax-rebate. She cut 250 million dollars from the state-budget last year. She pushed through a pipe-line that has been in the works for 30 years. She refused to let the local oil companies push her around. When they submitted plans for sub par work she gave the contract to a Canadian company. There is more, but this comment is way too long already and I need to move on.
Plus he has real life experience actually working with people…
And Palin doesn’t? She WAS working people. She and her husband had regular jobs until she ran for city council. And the only reason she ran for city council was because she saw a problem and wanted to fix it, so she did. She knows the problems from the inside.
he moves people with his manners and can sway people to his way of thinking by pulling people together
I don’t want someone that can “move people with his manners and sway people to his way of thinking”. I want people to do their own research on topics and decide for themselves what THEY think and then choose a candidate based on that. Not how well someone speaks in public or how charming they can be. Also, I like somebody who is willing to stand on principle. Or at least have the courage to say what he believes even if people are going to criticize him.
I kinda put her and Obama on the same level as she will be in charge if heaven forbid something happened to Mccain.
This is not the right way to look at it. We can’t forget that McCain is running for president. And put McCain up next to Obama and there is no question on who is more qualified for the job.
We should also remember that Obama is not invincible. Something could happen to him as well. And then who are we left with? Nobody, not even democrats, thought Joe Biden was qualified to be president. Not in ‘88 and not now. And on that subject, why would anybody choose a running mate that doesn’t think they are qualified for the job as president?
Thanks for the feedback
Love it. I fixed the thingy on my blog for you.
thanks!! you are awesome!
